Shipping policy
In short
- Shipping is free to all 50 U.S. states, whatever the size or weight — freight and oversized handling included.
- Import duties and tariffs are paid by us before the piece leaves. Nothing is collected at your door. Sales tax, where it applies, is shown at checkout.
- Pieces are finished to order: allow 1 to 3 business days to prepare, and 1 to 3 weeks total for most U.S. orders.
- Large pieces travel crated by freight and the carrier calls you to book a window. White-glove delivery is available on request.
- Inspect on arrival. If anything is damaged, photograph it and tell us within 14 days of delivery.
1. Where we ship
Our published pricing and free shipping cover all 50 U.S. states. We ship to residential addresses, designers' receivers, warehouses and job sites — add the delivery contact at checkout or send it to us and we will attach it to the consignment.
We fulfill international and project orders case by case, including 220–240V builds. Email Support@effimel.com with your destination and we will quote freight, duties and any voltage changes before you order.
2. Cost, duties and taxes
The price on the product page is the landed price. There is no shipping line at checkout, no customs invoice weeks later, and no courier asking for money at your door. Import duty and tariffs are calculated and paid by us before the piece ships. Sales tax, where applicable, is calculated and shown at checkout.
3. Processing and timeline
Our pieces are built and finished to order rather than pulled off a pallet, so allow a little longer than a mass-market retailer — and expect the piece to arrive properly.
| Stage | Timing | What happens |
|---|---|---|
| Order confirmed | Same day | You receive an email confirmation. We check finish, size and shipping details and contact you if anything needs clarifying. |
| Preparation | 1–3 business days | Your piece is assembled, wired and finished. Custom and made-to-order pieces take longer; that lead time is confirmed with your quote. |
| Inspection | Before packing | Every component, finish and electrical connection is checked. Pieces that do not pass do not ship. |
| Packed and dispatched | — | Crated or double-boxed according to size and fragility. Tracking is emailed the moment it leaves the warehouse. |
| Delivery | 1–3 weeks total | Most U.S. orders arrive within one to three weeks of ordering, depending on the piece and your location. |
These are good-faith estimates, not guarantees. If you are working to a date, tell us before you order and we will tell you honestly whether it is achievable. If a piece is already finished we can often expedite the carrier leg.
4. How your piece travels
| Method | Typically used for | What to expect |
|---|---|---|
| Parcel | Sconces, flush mounts, small and mid-size pendants | Standard courier delivery to your door with tracking. No appointment needed. |
| Freight | Large chandeliers, linear fixtures, heavy crated pieces | The carrier calls to arrange a delivery window. Curbside delivery unless otherwise arranged. |
| White glove | Oversized or especially fragile pieces, on request | Delivery into the room of your choice with packaging removed. Ask us before ordering. |
White-glove delivery covers placement and packaging removal. It is not an installation service — hardwiring must be carried out by a licensed electrician.
5. Freight deliveries: what you need to do
- The carrier will call to book a delivery window. Someone over 18 must be present to receive and sign.
- Curbside is the standard for freight. If the piece needs to go inside, arrange white glove with us in advance.
- Inspect the crate before you sign. If it is visibly crushed, punctured or damaged, note that on the carrier's paperwork — do not sign the delivery as clean.
- Photograph the packaging before opening it, and the fixture before installing anything.
Signing a freight delivery as clean when the crate is visibly damaged makes a carrier claim much harder. Two minutes with a phone camera at the curb protects your order.
6. Damage, loss and missing parts
If a box arrives damaged, photograph the packaging before opening it and the piece before you install anything, then contact us within 14 days of delivery with your order number. We will arrange a replacement or the correct parts at no cost to you, and in most cases we will not ask you to ship anything back first.
If a component is missing, tell us which part and we will send it. Because every piece is built to a specification we hold, we can order a single part against it — you do not need to return the whole fixture to get one bracket or one glass shade.
If tracking shows delivered but nothing has arrived, check with neighbors and building management first, then contact us. We will open a trace with the carrier and keep you updated until it is resolved.
7. Tracking, address changes and delays
Tracking is emailed as soon as your piece is dispatched. Freight shipments also come with a carrier reference so you can arrange your delivery window directly.
Please check your shipping address carefully at checkout. We can usually change an address before dispatch — email us as soon as possible. Once a piece has left the warehouse, an address change depends on the carrier and may not be possible. Redelivery or address-correction fees caused by an incorrect address given at checkout may be passed on.
Weather, carrier backlogs, customs inspections and address problems can delay a shipment beyond our control. We will tell you as soon as we know and keep you updated. Once a piece is with the carrier, delivery timing is in their hands.
8. Returns
If a piece is not right, you have 30 days from delivery to return it unused and in its original packaging. See our Return and Refund Policy for the full conditions, including who pays return shipping and how custom pieces are treated.
